While traveling, I often find myself saying “This is definitely my favorite city in the world,” but more than often it is just me expressing my excitement for visiting a new place. However, when I say that Boston, Massachusetts is my FAVORITE city in the world, I don’t say it lightly. Despite traveling to new places all over Europe, Boston still ranks so high on my list of my future places to live. Filled with U.S. history and culture, breweries, a bustling and cosmopolitan port, modern architecture, the best fish & chips, and of course, the Boston Red Sox, it was hard not to fall in love with this city. Although, I admittedly can say that the thought of actually moving there is quite intimidating…let’s just say that Boston right now isn’t exactly the most ideal location for a broke solo traveler ( Hello, $2,000 a month rent).

I visited Boston for the first time in August 2011 with my parents, but at that time I was young, naive high-schooler with no intentions of becoming the traveler I am now and I was also without a decent camera. Luckily, I had found very cheap flights from Boston to Vigo (with a stop in Lisbon, thanks TAP Portugal) so I knew I had to take advantage to spend some time in my favorite city. My dad had also expressed interest in going with me so it was a no-brainer. I also was able to visit my soul sister Emily, who is studying nursing in Boston. I met her during my first solo trip to Porto last year and we became great friends over our love for alcohol and travel. You can actually check out her blog here.  So naturally before flying back to my lovely Vigo, Spain, I had to take advantage and get enough photos to share my experiences here in my little corner of the world.

BOSTON

SALEM

Another one of my favorite places to visit while in Boston is Salem, Massachusetts. The small city is most famous for the Salem Witch Trials and the main setting for “Hocus Pocus.” But on top of that, it’s got a great vibe and it’s an interesting place to visit with all kinds of different shops and restaurants. It’s also got that typical, colonial style New England architecture that I love with houses in all different colors. Definitely worth the ferry ride.

As always, thank you for reading! ♥ Molly
