Hello, babes!

Today I am going to share what items I like to always have with me in my personal item when I am traveling–whether it’s by bus, train or airplane! I will admit it is not a very original post, but I feel like I can’t have a travel blog without writing a post like this. I don’t know about you, but I have this weird thing where I really like reading lists, so I personally never get tired of them. Even if they say the same things. ENJOY!

What’s in My Personal Item?

First things first, what do I use for my personal item? Generally I like to use a small backpack because it is more comfortable and you can fit a lot of things in it. I use a Fjällräven Kanken, it is a more expensive backpack but it is so versatile and great quality. It works well with casual looks and nicer ones so I like using it for that purpose. It also is very spacious and can fit everything that I need comfortably while I am traveling.

Keep it Fresh

One of the best pieces of advice I can give is keeping the right personal hygiene items without throughout your trip. I usually always have a small lotion, deodorant, hand sanitizer, and lip balm even for the very basic of trips. If I am doing something more long haul, then I even throw in my brush and my toothbrush. Being stuck on any type of transport with a bunch of people, just makes me feel gross. I carry a small pouch to keep all of this in so that it all stays in the same place and I can get it easily.

Technology

My must haves for technology are as follows:

  1. Headphones & Phone – I am seriously such a child but I need music or podcasts when I am on transport to keep me entertained. It also helps me to relax. I also enjoy meditating on flights – so an app like Headspace is great for that.
  2. Portable Charger – A portable charge is one of the best things that you can invest in while you are traveling. Mine is unfortunately dead somewhere in the middle of Andalucia, but I really should buy a new one because they are so handy and you never know when you’ll be able to charge up your phone again.
  3. Charging cords – If you are lucky and get a plane or train with electrical outlets, then obviously you want to take advantage

Important Documents

These are really obvious but I thought I would include them!

  1. Passport- hard to go anywhere without that
  2. Credit/Debit Cards
  3. Money
  4. Copies of ID’s and cards–you never know what could happen
  5. Transport Tickets
  6. Reservations/Confirmations, if necessary

Fuel Up

Traveling is great, but it is equally exhausting. It is so important to take care of yourself while traveling (and of course, everyday). In my blog about how to survive long flights, I talk about my water routine while traveling. Long story short, I drink a lot of water while on the road. It keeps me feeling good and energized! I also like to carry healthy snacks such as fruit, hummus, pretzels, veggies or yogurt. Of course, it’s also possible to come across illness while traveling so I like to carry gatorade/equivalent or a vitamin water to help replenish my cells and help me fight whatever type of sickness I may come down with.

Extra Clothes

If I am traveling on a long haul flight, I love carrying an extra outfit–first of all, you never know if you’ll lost your luggage, let’s hope not, but it happens. It also is great to change right after a long flight because you feel cleaner in general–I weirdly sweat a lot on long flights, I don’t know why cause it’s always freezing but it happens. Taking a SCARF is also a lifesaver.  I always do this no matter what type of travel because a scarf makes it so easy to dress up an outfit, keep you warm, or it can double as a blanket.

Thank you for you for reading, as always ♥ Molly
